The Center for Advanced Studies was established in 1990 to support and facilitate faculty scholarship at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, with the goal of developing and maintaining a high level of intellectual activity and scholarship that advances the national prominence of the institution.

Please read our Submission Guidelines

The Center for Advanced Studies welcomes the submission of articles about scholarship/research activities at the Academy to post to its website. Currently there are two types of articles being posted: spotlights and research news, which are described below. Examples of accepted articles can be found on this page.

Spotlights: This section provides an opportunity to provide an in-depth description of research/scholarship activities of an individual or a group such as a department or cadets working with faculty. (500-800 words)

Research News: These are short entries to announce various research/scholarship activities. Examples include receipt of grant, publication of book or article, presentation at conference, award or honor, etc. (100-250 words)
