ABOUT MIMI

Hi everyone! My name is Mimi Coburn and I am from Londonderry, New Hampshire. I come from a big and complicated family with four younger sisters, a younger brother, and an older brother, who goes to King’s Point (yes, this does escalate the sibling rivalry haha). While in high school I played field hockey and lacrosse and was involved in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. I found out about the Academy during my freshman year when I was tagging along on some college visits with my dad and brother. I instantly fell in love with the campus and also learned about the many amazing opportunities one has after graduating. It was a tough process to get in, but definitely worthwhile.

I just finished Swab Summer about three weeks ago, and although it was probably the most difficult things I have ever done, it really does get you prepared for the cadet life. It also brings your company together as a family, and I am very grateful for that. I am currently in Foxtrot Company, and so far everyone is awesome. I am going to be playing lacrosse here at the Academy and we just moved from being a club sport up to Division III so I am very excited for the season. I am also going to be involved in the command religious programs, CASA, and maybe some other activities if I have time. A statement that you will hear a lot about while at the Academy is “time management.” It does have a huge impact on your success at the school so don’t take it lightly. Work your hardest and manage your time wisely and you will succeed. Or at least that is what I have been told. Good Luck with everything and please feel free to email me at Hemenway.O.Coburn@uscga.edu if you have any questions at all!
