Hey there! I’m Christi Frost. I am a third class cadet at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. I am studying Operations Research and Computer Analysis, and I aspire to attend flight school upon commissioning. My dream billet would be flying for Tactical Law Enforcement Team Miami. I grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida and I would be lost if I was away from the water for too long.
I am a member of the Intercollegiate Sailing Team, which is my family away from home when I am at school. I have been sailing since I was 10 years old, and fell in love with it on day one. My teammates are my best friends; we are always there for each other, like lifelines. I look forward all day to practice and all week to traveling with them on the weekend. Sailing has acted as a great release for me at the Academy, and traveling gives me the opportunity to get away on the weekends.
I also love the Academy because it allows me to surround myself with other goal-oriented people that are focused on success. Every day is a challenge, be it in the classroom, at sailing practice, or militarily. A year ago, I would not have imagined the bonds and friendships I would form with my classmates. You truly cannot get through the Academy by yourself; your classmates are always there to help and everyone gets through together.
