Hi! My name is Eva Sandri, and I’m from Silver Spring, Maryland. At home, I have a younger sister and brother, a turtle named Oompa Loompa and a dog named Baroness von Strudel. Originally I had planned on attending a civilian college, but when I found out about the Coast Guard Academy, its peacetime missions, and close-knit community through a family friend it seemed like the perfect fit. Appreciating and taking care of our environment and its inhabitants has always been important to me, and I love being by the water. I am planning on majoring in Marine and Environmental Sciences here and will row on the crew team.
Swab Summer was definitely a challenge, but I made so many great friends and it feels gratifying to have pushed ourselves to the limit. As fourth class year gets underway, I’m excited for my classmates and me to finally be members of the corps and explore the many opportunities the Academy has to offer.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at Eva.M.Sandri@uscga.edu and I would be happy to help answer them!
