Hey guys! My name is Zachary Kearney and I’m a 4/c cadet here at the United States Coast Guard Academy.
I was born on a navy base in Puerto Rico, but have pretty much lived my entire life in Staunton, Virginia (home of the Statler Brothers, Blackfriars Theater, Woodrow Wilson’s birthplace, and a pretty nice downtown). I graduated from Robert E. Lee High school and attended Shenandoah Valley Governor’s school my junior and senior years. I have to say, Governor’s school really helped prepare me for the rigorous academic schedule here at the Academy.
I love to run and workout. I ran cross country/track on a great team in high school and am doing the same here at the Academy. I enjoy playing the drums and listening/discovering all kinds of music, and am constantly whistling a tune (but of course never when I’m braced up waking down the p-way or marching in formation!)
I have an extremely supportive family, including my father and mother, my brother Alex, and my cat Beijing. I also have a great core of friends back home that are very supportive and some amazing friends here at the USCGA.
Feel free to email me anytime if you have any questions relating to the Academy. My email address is Zachary.D.Kearney@uscga.edu.
