I came all the way to the Academy from Colchester, Connecticut, which is about twenty minutes away. Even though I have lived so close to the Academy my entire life, I did not consider going here until the end of my sophomore year of high school. I am part of the class of 2014, and I am a civil engineering major. My mother works at Pratt & Whitney, and my father works in heat treatment. I also have two sisters, one of whom is older and just graduated from Bryant University, and I have a younger sister who is still in high school. My cat and dog could also be considered my siblings, very hairy siblings.
I played many different sports in high school such as basketball and volleyball, but I decided to try something new here and I joined the boxing team. Boxing has been so much fun, and my best friend boxes with me so that makes it even better, except for the days we have to fight each other but we just laugh about it afterwards. I also am going to play lacrosse in the spring. I enjoy being active by going on bike rides, camping, and swimming. While I love moving around and being energetic, I never find anything wrong with taking a good nap.
I plan to enjoy myself in the next four years that I will spend at the Academy, and it will definitely be an adventure. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at Brianna.E.Townsend@uscga.edu.
