A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Lieutenant Webb graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 2005, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. Following graduation he was assigned to USCGC Bear (WMEC-901) home-ported in Portsmouth, Virginia as a Deck Watch Officer. While onboard, he served as Assistant Navigator, Assistant Operations Officer, and Law Enforcement Officer. In 2007, he reported to USS Mustin (DDG-89) home-ported in Yokosuka, Japan as part of the Coast Guard/Navy Exchange Program. While serving with the Navy, Lieutenant Webb operated in the Seventh Fleet area of responsibility in support of routine security operations in the Western Pacific Ocean. During this tour, he earned his Surface Warfare Officer designation. In 2009, he reported to USCGC Vigilant (WMEC-617) home-ported in Port Canaveral, Florida as Operations Officer. During this tour, LT Webb earned his permanent cutterman’s pin and conducted counter narcotic and migrant interdiction operations in the Windward Passage and Caribbean Sea. In July 2011, he reported to the Coast Guard Academy Professional Maritime Studies Branch where he currently serves as Nautical Science II Course Coordinator.
Lieutenant Webb’s personal awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Commandant’s Letter of Commendation ribbon with one gold star, and various service and unit awards. LT Webb is also a Permanent Cutterman, designated Surface Warfare Officer, and a licensed Merchant Mariner. He is married to the former Ms. Yoshie Ishimura of Morioka-shi, Japan.
