John Keiffer, M.B.A., M.S., Lieutenant, USCG
LT John Keiffer, a native of Rhinelander, WI, is a faculty member in the School of Engineering and Cyber Systems at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA). He graduated from USCGA with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, where he was an active member of the rowing team, water polo team, and scouting club.
His first assignment was aboard USCGC FIR (WLB 213) in Astoria, OR, serving as a deck watch officer. He then transferred to Sector North Bend, OR, where he worked as the assistant facilities engineer, managing infrastructure projects and facility operations.
In 2021, LT Keiffer was selected for graduate school and attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). He earned degrees from both the School of Construction Engineering and Management and the School of Business, graduating in 2023.
Following graduate school, LT Keiffer returned to USCGA, where he currently serves as a rotating military faculty member in the School of Engineering and Cyber Systems, teaching and mentoring future Coast Guard officers.
