Ryan Condon

Rosemount, Minnesota – Class of 2018 Major: Management

Ryan Condon chose to study Management because he had always liked writing, business and economics. During his study of Management at the Academy, Ryan has been exposed to these interest areas and more, helping him to shape a vision for graduate school and beyond.

On the breadth of the program

“The most surprising thing about the Management program is how broad it is. When I first entered the major, I thought I would only be taking accounting and economics courses. Those courses are are only a small part of the major. The program teaches us so much more.”

On an outstanding faculty

“The professors are extremely friendly and caring. There is not a single faculty member in the major that I do not feel comfortable approaching. All the professors, both civilian and military, are people that I extremely admire and are always friendly, charismatic and approachable.”

On individualized attention

“The personal attention I receive from the faculty is amazing. If I’m struggling in a class, they are always there to help. They also help me in deciding about my future – such as what I want to do in my Coast Guard career, graduate school options, and even how to plan for retirement.”

On preparation for the future

“Management has helped me in so many ways. It has given me a solid business foundation. It has helped me develop as a writer and presenter. These skills will follow me in my pursuit of a law degree after graduation, as well as allow me to excel at my Coast Guard job and future civilian job.”
