Andrew Zuckerman, M.S., Commander, USCG

AZuckerman CDR Zuckerman reported to the Mathematics Department in the summer of 2019 from a DUINS assignment to the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). Prior to his CGA assignments, CDR Zuckerman served the majority of his career as a Search and Rescue helicopter pilot, flying the mighty H-65 Dolphin helicopter. CDR Zuckerman has patrolled most of the eastern seaboard, being assigned to CG Air Station Atlantic City and CG Air Station Savannah. Additionally, CDR Zuckerman is one of only a handful of CG pilots qualified as a fleet examiner for both Search and Rescue and Rotary Wing Air Intercept, a national security mission conducted in support of the US Secret Service and US Air Force. Prior to seeing the light and being selected for flight school, CDR Zuckerman was assigned as a Deck Watch Officer and Law Enforcement Officer aboard the Coast Guard Cutter JARVIS, then homeported in Honolulu, HI. He holds an MS in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and a BS from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in Operations Research and Computer Analysis. CDR Zuckerman is the Class Advisor to the Great Class of 2023, faculty advisor/coach to many cadet activities, and a volunteer firefighter. He lives in Essex, Connecticut with his wife Tara, two children, and disobedient dog Mr. Belvedere.
