LT Matthew Mcallister
I graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. While I was there, I played lacrosse for two years and was a four-year wrestler, serving as wrestling team captain my senior year. After graduating, I served as the Operations Officer aboard the Coast Guard Cutter WINSLOW GRIESSER , a Fast Response Cutter homeported in San Juan, Puerto Rico. There, we specialized in Alien Migrant Interdiction Operations and Counter Drug Operations all throughout the Caribbean Sea. In July of 2019, I reported to Tactical Law Enforcement Team Pacific in San Diego, CA, where I served as a Law Enforcement Detachment Officer in Charge from 2019 to 2022. During my TACLET Tour, my team and I deployed aboard US Naval, British, Dutch, and Canadian Warships all around the globe enforcing maritime law, training international partners, and interdicting illicit maritime activity. As a CT native and USCGA alum, I am extremely excited to join the Admissions team and serve as a resource for the aspiring Coast Guard leaders of tomorrow.
