As a sophomore in high school, I first learned about the Academy through a Facebook post from the Philippine Coast Guard featuring previous graduates of the international cadet program. Their success stories and the recognition they received from our country inspired me to look deeper into what the Coast Guard Academy represents. Two years later, as a senior, I came across another post inviting applications — and that’s how my journey to the Coast Guard Academy began.

The International Council has been the best resource for international cadets. As its President, I’ve had the privilege of leading a community that fosters cultural exchange, mentorship, and support among cadets from all over the world. The council plays a vital role in helping international cadets adapt to Academy life while also celebrating the diversity that strengthens our Corps.
If you’re a prospective international cadet, take the leap and apply — even if it feels daunting. The Academy will challenge you in ways you’ve never imagined, but it will also shape you into a stronger, more resilient, and purpose-driven leader. You’ll build lifelong friendships, gain a world-class education, and have the honor of representing your country on a global stage. It’s not just about earning a commission — it’s about discovering who you are, pushing beyond limits, and becoming part of something greater than yourself.
