The Academy campus is small in size but offers academic facilities and support services rivaling much larger institutions. Beyond our gates lies New London’s vibrant downtown, historic Mystic as well as a host of other New England destinations ready to be explored.

Location and Region

The region surrounding the Coast Guard Academy, with its New England charm and rich military and maritime heritage, offers a unique step back into history along with a wealth of modern attractions and entertainment.

A Cool College Town

The New London Waterfront District is a hub of energy with music, art, design, quirky shops and more than 30 eateries. New London, was recently designated a “Top Ten” creative community among small American cities.

Visit Mystic

Just nine miles from campus is Mystic, Connecticut, home to Mystic Seaport, the nation’s leading maritime museum with its re-created 19th-century seafaring village. Another must-see attraction: Mystic Aquarium, one of three U.S. facilities holding Steller Sea Lions as well as the only beluga whales in New England.
