Interdisciplinary Engineering Careers
IDE graduates serve as Coast Guard officers in a wide spectrum of Coast Guard missions and careers. The program provides graduates with a solid foundation for professional engineering practice, both in and outside the Coast Guard. Many engineering majors go on to pursue post-graduate study in a wide range of other subjects and degrees including, but no limited to Aviation/Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Cyber Engineering, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Power Systems & Control Engineering, and Systems Engineering.
