Before I came to the Academy, I was a dancer—not a cheerleader. Flipping and stunting in front of a crowd? I couldn’t even imagine it. All I knew was that I loved to perform. But joining USCGA Cheer turned out to be the best decision I made after arriving here.
I first heard about the team during Swab Summer, and from that moment, I couldn’t wait to try out. The second the school year started, I was welcomed with open arms, big smiles, and instant support. It wasn’t just a team—it felt like I had found my people. I gained teammates, fast friends, and future shipmates I truly can’t wait to serve alongside in the fleet.
From day one, the team taught me everything I know. I was throwing up stunts, trying out new cheer positions, and loving every second. I knew I had found the right sport and the right place. The support was unmatched—whether at practice, on the sidelines, or just in the day-to-day grind, everyone truly lifted each other up (literally and emotionally!).
What I’ve learned is that no matter where you come from—whether you’re a gymnast, dancer, or brand new to it all—everyone brings something unique and valuable to the mat. I admire my teammates so much and am constantly inspired to be my best self for them.
I’m beyond excited to help lead this amazing group as junior captain for the upcoming season. I can’t wait to keep building our team, growing together, and cheering louder than ever.
Go Bears, and Semper Paratus! 5…6…7…8…!
