How did you hear of the Coast Guard Academy?
I first heard about the Coast Guard Academy through a video by Nick Foreman talking about his experience as a cadet in the academy. Once doing the research, my parents and I came across information on the AIM program and we believed that it would be a great opportunity for my future in the Coast Guard.
What is the #1 thing you’ve done to prepare for AIM?
The first thing I’ve done to prepare for AIM is to look for more information on the camp as well as the academy. I have also been working on myself both physically and mentally to improve my endurance in order to perform well in the camp.
What do you expect to have in common with your fellow AIMsters?
I expect to share similar goals of studying in the Coast Guard Academy as well as serving in the Coast Guard. I also believe that we might relate to being a part of different extracurricular highschool activities such as sports, the JROTC program, and others.
What are you most looking forward to?
I’m most looking forward to experiencing the campus environment, participating in all the program activities and leaving with a better understanding of what the academy has to offer. In addition, meeting with like minded people who share my goals of having a future in the Coast Guard.
Any hesitations about your AIM week?
I have no hesitations about the AIM program. I am mainly looking forward to learning more about the Coast Guard Academy during my week.
What do your peers think about your service academy aspirations?
My peers are incredibly happy that I have an interest in the Coast Guard and are supportive of my goals to be a part of the Coast Guard in the future.
