Electrical Engineering Careers

Electrical Engineering (EE) graduates are well prepared to address U.S. Coast Guard engineering challenges, specifically in the areas of Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Information Technology (C4&IT). Recent EE graduates are engaging in a variety of duties across the entire spectrum of Coast Guard missions, including:

  • Directing surface and air assets to carry out law enforcement operations
  • Managing the architecture, design, engineering and lifecycle for the Coast Guard’s computer infrastructure
  • Reviewing cutting-edge electric power system and control system designs for vessels
  • Delivering support to C4 and IT systems for Coast Guard units
  • Using advanced ship technology to accomplish Coast Guard missions
  • Disrupting transnational criminal networks
  • Training DoD and USCG cyber mission forces

Equipped with a deep knowledge of the field and a highly desirable skill set, Electrical Engineering graduates go on to great success in a variety of careers – both within the Coast Guard and, after in private industry.
