Tara Haglund graduated cum laude from Wellesley College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After eighteen months of missionary service in northeastern Brazil, she interned with VivaCred, a Brazilian non-profit, micro-credit lender in Rio de Janeiro. Back in the US, she worked as an analyst for National Economic Research Associates in Philadelphia and then for Accenture in Chicago. She shifted her focus to teaching piano lessons and building human capital in her four children for a season, punctuated by occasional consulting projects. In 2016-2017 she worked at USCGA as a mentor in the Hewitt Writing and Reading Center. Mrs. Haglund graduated in 2021 from Southern New Hampshire University with a Master of Science in Applied Economics and won the Distinguished Scholar prize for the highest GPA in her program. She began teaching at USCGA in January 2022.
