Byron Willeford is a USCGA graduate (1992) and retired Coast Guard Commander with tours including afloat operations in buoy tending and icebreaking, and scientific operations in iceberg identification, movement prediction and deterioration modeling. He served as rotating military faculty at USCGA 2001-2004 and as a lecturer in the Physics and Marine Science departments since 2015.
