Lieutenant Commander Harrington graduated from USCGA in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Management.
His first assignment was to the USCGC ACTIVE in Port Angeles, WA where he served as First Lieutenant and Communications Officer. Following the USCGC ACTIVE, LCDR Harrington reported to LANT-35IM as ICS and IMT Coordinator and twice deployed to Naples, Italy to support OPERATION JUNCTION RAIN (OJR). In 2017, LCDR Harrington to the SECTOR Delaware Bay Command Center and deployed to the District 7 IMT and to St. Croix, USVI in support of response efforts to Hurricanes IRMA and MARIA. He also deployed to Rota, Spain in support of OJR. In 2019, he transferred to the Enforcement Division where he was part of the boarding and subsequent seizure of 19.76 tons of cocaine onboard the M/V MSC GAYANE. In 2020, LCDR Harrington transferred to Washington D.C. to serve in CG-MLE’s Interdiction Division where he managed the Coast Guard’s drug and migrant portfolio. During this tour he also deployed in support of Southwest Border Operations, OPERATION ALLIES WELCOME, OJR, and served as the Planning Section Chief for the Commandant Change of Command. In 2023, he reported to Sector Columbia River in Portland, OR as the Command Center Chief of the Coast Guard’s largest-staffed Command Center. LCDR Harrington’s professional achievements include a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University (2018) and JPME Phase I from the Air Command and Staff College (2025).
A native of Belchertown, MA, LCDR Harrington currently resides in Vancouver, WA with his wife of eleven years, Heather, their two daughters Claire (8) and Sarah (5), and their dog Ruby (10). LCDR Harrington enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, travel, and working on cars.
