Center for Counseling and Development

Professional counselors provide a supportive and confidential atmosphere where any issue can be discussed. Common cadet issues include peer pressure, sexuality, concerns with parents, personal relationships, roommates, study skills, time management, homesickness, stress, depression, eating concerns and more. The counselors are here to help cadets with their growth and development, not merely as a cadet, but most importantly as a person and offer a variety of services in addition to individual counseling, such as group counseling and educational workshops.

The Center ensures full, professional confidentiality for all of its services. Counseling records will not become part of an individual’s medical, academic, military or personnel file. If parents, faculty, staff members or fellow cadets have concerns about a cadet, they should contact the Center for Counseling and Development. Counselors will assess the situation and follow up as appropriate.

The Center for Counseling and Development is located in the Clinic, in the lower deck of Michel Hall. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; exceptions may occur. For appointments, call (860) 444-8520; on campus, dial extension 8520.

In the event of an emergency, call one of these numbers immediately:
