Samuel G. Andriessen, M.A., Lieutenant Commander, USCG

LCDR Samuel Andriessen is a 2008 Graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, where he earned a B.S. degree in Government. He is a permanent Cutterman with seven years afloat. His first tour was aboard CGC ACTIVE out of Port Angeles, WA as Deck Watch Officer. His next tour was aboard CGC MELLON in Seattle, WA as Weapons Officer. Following a staff assignment as the Deputy Executive Assistant and Flag Aide for the Assistant Commandant of Human Resources, COMDT (CG-1) at Coast Guard Headquarters, LCDR Andriessen assumed command of CGC MONOMOY in Manama, Bahrain. His most recent afloat assignment was as Commanding Officer of CGC SANIBEL out of Woods Hold, MA. LCDR Andriessen earned a M.A. in Military Studies from American Military University in 2017 and a M.A. in Global, International, and Comparative History from Georgetown University in 2019. LCDR Andriessen is married to Rachel Beckmann, CGA ’06, and lives in Gales Ferry with their two-year old daughter Sydney.
