Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT)

Open to cadets in all majors, the Geospatial Intelligence Plan of Study is a sequence of specialized courses that cuts across several officer specialty fields. Completion of this program expands assignment opportunities in the Coast Guard, and opens a diverse range of career pathways in the civilian sector.

Plan of Study

The Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Plan of Study is overseen by the Science Department. It is open to all cadets with available electives. The curriculum prepares cadets to locate, evaluate, and analyze geospatial data to forecast outcomes and solve operational problems. Graduates are prepared for advanced study in the field, and to seek related careers in the civilian sector, where these skills are in high demand. CORE (required)

  • Remote Sensing
  • Intelligence and Cyber Operations
  • Geospatial Science II
ELECTIVES (choose one)
  • Emergency Management
  • Polar Oceanography
  • Research in Geospatial Science
CAPSTONE (required): Capstone Research I, II, III (GEOINT) or Summer Internship (GEOINT).
